Description
The Catherdal of the Incarnation, located in Garden City, Nassau County, Long Island was constructed from 1876 to 1883. Cornelia Clinch Stewart had this church built as a memorial to her late husband Alexander Turney Stewart (The Department store magnate). Architect Henry G. Harrison designed the Cathedral with a 210 ft spire in the Perpendicular Gothic style of the fourteenth Century. The Cathedral became the Protestant Episcopal diocese of Long Island.
