Description
The Morris-Jamel Mansion located at W 160th Street and Edgecomb Ave was built in 1765. Mount Morris was built as a summer villa for British Military Officer Roger Morris and his wife Mary Philipse Morris. The house served as George Washington's headquarters for a month in 1776.
