January 15th, 1991. I was home in my apartment in Middle Village, Queens. I was watching the beginning of the bombing of Iraq. The start of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I had my scanner on and was listening when the Brooklyn fire dispatcher announced box 272 has been transmitted for a reported fire in a warehouse. There were numerous calls coming in. Upon arrival, a 2nd alarm was transmitted. I grabbed my gear and started out for McKibbin and Borum Streets in the northern section of Bushwick on the Williamsburg border. It took me about 12 minutes to get to the scene. Prior to my arrival a 3rd Alarm was transmitted. I parked my car a block away to avoid getting blocked in.
I grabbed my camera and radio, When I went down the block, these are some of my photos I took that night.
